Episode 162.
A Conversation with Anthony Pappalardo & Nathan Nedorostek, of Radio Silence: The Book.
Anthony and Nathan are the co-authors of Radio Silence: A Selected Visual History of American Hardcore Music, a landmark book that documents the DIY spirit, design, and culture of the American hardcore scene from 1978 to 1993. Originally released in 2008 by MTV Press and powerHouse Books, Radio Silence quickly became a cult classic for its vivid, visual documentation of American hardcore’s underground culture. Now rereleased in 2025 with updated materials and expanded context, the book returns as a definitive archive of the DIY punk movement.
In this episode we discuss: Press Tours, delivery dates, Jacob Hoye, co-worker clips™, cultural autotune, Gino Iannucci, Dysfunctional by Aaron Rose, Dischord House, LiveWire, PT Cruisers, ABC No Rio, intellectual property, and celebrity stylists ruining everything.
